North Rim flips from fall to winter in a weekend
NORTH RIM – The North Rim of the Grand Canyon provides a photographer's paradise each fall. Bright yellow and red aspen leaves mix with the dark green fir trees and with the brown and greens of Ponderosa pines in a beautiful kaleidoscope.
This year an early snow storm added even more variety to this outstanding landscape. Wildlife thrives in the environment.
Guests are likely to see Mule Deer, buffalo, turkeys, squirrels and and a rich assortment of raptors. Many of the largest Mule Deer in the United States are residents of the North Kaibab Plateau. From lookout points, outstanding views of the Grand Canyon, Marble Canyon, Vermillion Cliffs and Zion National Park appear. Access to these points occur inside the Grand Canyon National Park and on the Kaibab National Forrest.
