Obituary: Rosalie Kay Moore

On Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 Rosalie Kay Moore (Rosie) passed in hospice care in Prescott, Ariz. She passed as a great woman, loving mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great-grandma and friend.

Rosalie was born March 9, 1938 in Pasadena, Calif. Rosie was blessed to have Nolan Howard, Bonnie Thurston and Bill Howard as loving siblings and Brenda Nelson, Terry Moore, Larry Moore and Michael Moore as loving children. Ten loving grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many extended family members survive her.

Rosie spent all of her youth in California and graduated from Pasadena High School. Her children were all born in California.

The family moved around a lot, but finally felt truly settled in 1971 when they moved to Congress, Ariz. where Rosie worked at the 71 Café. Rosie worked many jobs and lived in various places in Arizona, after Congress, including Bagdad, Tusayan and Cordes Junction.

Rosie was a caring, loving and forgiving person. She had a great sense of humor and unique love for her family and friends. She cared for so many people, through both the hard times and the good times. She supported and enriched the lives of all that knew her.

In Rosie's life, babies and kids ruled and she was always their greatest defender. The kids were almost always in the right, to her, somehow. She had a love for people of all ages but her love of children was special, loving and will always be cherished.

Rosie was a uniquely creative person that loved art, poetry, writing and music. We hope she can forever see any art piece and hear any written word or song that she would like to now. We are blessed to have known her and she will be greatly missed.

A service and celebration of her life begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at Cliff Castle Casino, Meetings and Events Center. A catered reception will follow 2-4 p.m. at the same location.

To get there, remain on Interstate 17 to Exit 289. Make an immediate turn east onto Middle Verde Road and follow it right up the hill. The address is 555 Middle Verde Rd., Camp Verde, AZ 86322, (800) 381-7568.
